Project Information
Our overall collaborative project with the West Side Education Think Tank and the Butterfly Academy, coined Society for Promoting the Arts for Children to Elevate Safety in Charlotte (SPACES CLT), is a project centered on educating youth in the areas of crime prevention and safety promotion. Leveraging the arts and literature, we plan to continue this successfully implemented workshop. This program will consist of a visual art displays and hands-on learning, followed by hands-on writing workshops, concluded by a celebration of engagement and achievement. This project will be an expansion of our existing support in our community and will be supported by our existing, Project 365.
With the support of Project 365 and other community partners we will impact the lives of young low income and at-risk children. Project 365 serves the McKinney-Vento Scholars as well as homeless and housing-insecure and at-risk children and seeks to increase access to needed resources and offers opportunities for those at risk. We are dedicated to ensuring educational equity and excellence for at risk children and youth experiencing homelessness in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. The mission for Project 365 is to support vulnerable, under-served and unaccompanied youth providing supplies, support, and encouragement that ultimately nurtures their potential and success throughout the school year and in life beyond the classroom.
