About R.I.S.E
R.I.S.E. is A Giving Heart Project's preventative youth empowerment program, delivered as an 8-week workshop series in classroom and community settings. Rooted in AGHP's H.E.A.R.T. Framework, (Holistic, Education, Advocacy, Resilience, and Trauma-Informed), R.I.S.E. creates a safe, structured space where young people can explore their emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop the mindset and skills to overcome life's challenges with confidence.
What We Do
Each week, trained R.I.S.E. Facilitators guide youth through interactive sessions that go far beyond a traditional workshop. Participants engage in discussions on resilience, emotional awareness, coping skills, growth mindset, and healthy relationships. Sessions are designed to be hands-on and youth-centered, incorporating games, movement, roleplay, creative expression, journaling, and peer presentations because we know young people learn best when they feel seen, engaged, and valued.
Group discussions create space for young people to process real experiences around peer pressure, friendships, and making healthy choices. Reflection activities encourage youth to internalize what they're learning, and the program culminates in a Celebration and Resilience Showcase

What We're Building Toward
The impact of R.I.S.E. unfolds over time. In the short term, participants leave each session with a stronger understanding of resilience, emotional awareness, and what healthy connections look and feel like. They begin identifying their emotional responses, learning rapid reset techniques like breathing and grounding, and recognizing that they are supported and valued in community.
Over time, those skills deepen. Intermediate outcomes include youth who apply coping strategies during moments of stress, demonstrate emotional regulation, maintain a growth mindset, and build stronger peer relationships. The long-term vision is young people who carry genuine emotional resilience, improved mental and behavioral health, and the confidence to make healthy decisions at school, at home, and in their communities.
