Glennis Davis, MSN, RN, CPHN, CTIA
Co-Founder and Executive Director Glennis is a native Charlottean who strives to find ways to serve and make meaningful contributions to the deserving people and beautiful city she calls home. Glennis knew from an early age that she was called to serve others. With over 17 rewarding years as a registered nurse, she has spent over half her nursing career in the public sector serving those in need. She has a passion for all people, namely children, the women who bear them, the men who father them, the families that help raise them, and the individuals that make up the community in which they live. |
In 2018, she decided to take a huge step towards fulfilling her purpose, and she co-founded A Giving Heart Project, Inc. Glennis proudly and diligently serves as Director/Board President of AGHP. Glennis is honored to be a wife to an amazing and supportive husband, mother to two incredibly awesome boys, daughter to the strongest women in the world, and the most dedicated & motivational father one could have. She is also a sister to the best sister and brother-in-law in the world and a friend to some of the most inspiring and encouraging individuals you will ever meet.

Kevin Davis
Board Chair & Co-Founder & Volunteer Committee Chair Kevin has a passion for encouraging people, helping those in need, and serving his community. He is a graduate of Strayer University, with a B.S. in Information Systems and a minor in Network Security. Kevin currently works as a senior auditor for a major bank located in Charlotte, NC. He is also a husband & father and puts God and family first. Kevin has a passion for architecture and is part owner of a newly developed rental and leasing firm, Davis Legacy, LLC, located in the Charlotte area. |

Glennia S. Elijah
Founding Board Member/Secretary Glennia is a family-oriented person with a passion for helping others in need. She is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, with a B.A. in Mass Communication. The mother of one, she was born and raised in the Queen City. She currently works as a quality control manager for the Charlotte Area Transit System. In her youth, she had an intense interest in the care of animals, which led her to a minor endeavor in pet boarding. She has always cared about the well-being of those in need. In her current career with CATS, she assists in resolving transit-related issues for her customers and provides customer service training for CATS operators. |

Chamekia Spencer
Fundraising Committee Chair & Board Treasurer Chamekia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Chamekia has a diverse professional background, including seven years in logistics and ocean freight shipping. Since joining the banking industry, she has held various roles in technology, change management and business resiliency. |
Chamekia has a strong desire to minister to the community through service. Recognizing that her first ministry is at home; she is a devoted wife and a mother of four amazing children. She has served alongside numerous organizations with the intent to make life better for others. She has a heart to serve and a passion to help.

Josh Hamrick
Board Member & Outreach Committee Chair Josh Hamrick is a seasoned professional with more than twenty years of experience in the material handling industry, currently serving as Director of Customer Engagement at Advanced Equipment Company in Charlotte. His expertise spans sales, operations, customer service, and digital marketing, and he is known for building strong relationships that help organizations grow and thrive. In addition to his professional background, Josh has over twenty years of church ministry experience, which, together with his Master of Divinity, has shaped his values-driven approach to leadership and service. Serving on the board of A Giving Heart Project allows him to combine his faith-formed compassion with practical skills in communication and strategy to make a difference in Charlotte’s communities. Originally from Shelby and now a proud Charlotte resident, Josh brings both local roots and a forward-thinking perspective to A Giving Heart Project. He is honored to support the organization’s mission and believes strongly in the power of compassionate, hands-on service. |

Cicely Corey
Board Member Cicely Corry is a communications and marketing leader with 20 years of experience helping mission-driven organizations tell their stories well. She has spent more than 15 years in the nonprofit sector, shaping content strategy, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns for some of the most recognized Christian organizations in the world — including the Christian Broadcasting Network, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and Compassion International, where she currently leads church engagement marketing strategy. She has also contributed her expertise to Barna Group, a leading research firm serving nonprofits across the country. Closer to home, Cicely is the founder of Grace Chasers, a nonprofit that provides creative arts workshops and curriculum for teens in underserved communities. She is a proud Atlanta native now living in the Charlotte area with her husband, Darius, and their two sons, Haven and August. |

Laura Washington
Board Member Laura Washington is a dedicated advocate for the betterment of children and society as a whole. Coming from a family of educators and public servants, her desire to serve and give back to her community is a seed that was planted and nurtured from an early age. In her teens she volunteered with several youth hotlines focused on drug and suicide prevention furthering her sense of empathy and grassroots advocacy. After taking a position with the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, she was presented with an opportunity to co-lead the organizations employee resource group for African American/Black employees and it’s allies. It was while researching organizations for the group to work with, she came across AGHP and fell in love with the organizations mission. On her down time she loves nurturing her plants, loving her dogs and spending time with her village of family and friends. |

Courtney Anika Harris
Executive Operations Coordinator Courtney Anika (she/they) is an experienced justice-centered nonprofit leader with 10+ years diligently working to create equitable solutions for those most impacted by oppressive systems and/or living on the margins of society. Part of her trajectory and the tools she utilizes in their work come from receiving an Associate of Arts degree in Communication Studies, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth Ministry, and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership. Courtney is the Founder & Principal Consultant of Anika Pathways, where her strengths are used to uplift experiences, shines truth into the injustices faced within white supremacist systems, and provides tools to dismantle those systems and build toward a communal, restorative, and liberating world. |

Tonya Baptist
Client Navigator Tonya is on the front lines of support, working closely with families and individuals to connect them with critical resources and pathways to stable housing. Her compassion and advocacy ensure that everyone she serves feels seen, supported, and valued. Tonya’s work is a powerful reminder of the impact of truly meeting people where they are. |

My name is Emma Barker, and I am a senior at East Carolina University, majoring in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health. I am originally from the Charlotte area, and I am excited to be back home supporting and giving back to the community. I am very passionate about working with families and the youth within them, and fostering healthy connections and environments for those in need within the community.
